5 Simple Steps to Find Your 5D Mk IV Shutter Count!
I have spent FAR too long trying to find my 5D IV shutter count only to hear that Canon need you to send the camera to them! Apparently there is no way to do it using software. However, I finally found a super quick solution that won't cost you a penny that is also safe and bug free.
Why do you need to find your camera's shutter count?
The most obvious answer is that you want to sell your camera. Whether that is a Canon EOS 5D Mk IV or any other Canon DSLR, buyers want to know how much the camera has been used.
The general limit for a camera's shutter to still be workable is around 150,000 actuations. However, this is more of a safeguard for manufacturers rather than a hard and fast rule and many photographers have reached 250,000 with the camera still going strong. 400k is easily doable IMHO.
Other than that, you may absolutely love your aging 5D Mk IV and would like to give it a bit of a service before an important job or lengthy trip abroad. If it is over 200,000, you might want to pay for a service and new shutter before risking that shoot.
Enough of all that, let's find your 5D Mk IV Shutter Count
