Could the Mavic 4 Pro be my new forever drone?
I know it sounds silly writing that but I am serious. I have been flying drones for 10 years and am fast approaching 60. Couple this with a feeling that, like many things these days, cameras in my opinion are reaching a peak (famous last words).
Check out the specs below and ask yourself, how long will it be before you need anything more than this for your drone work? Whether that is for fun or your clients? If you are a high end pro, you probably already have an Inspire 3 or bigger/better but for us mere mortals, these are some impressive specs!
Main (rumoured) specs of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro (Cine):
Is the DJI Mavic 4 Pro future proof enough for you?
If you think about it, how many people own a 4K TV let alone a 6 or 8K one? How many people around the world now watch most of their media on a Smartphone or tablet?
How often do you shoot anything slower than 4k 120p and how many of your clients ask for RAW, or even Pro Res these days? What about photo printing? I had my first huge billboard photo shown in Spain and that was from a 6mp Canon EOS 10D! It looked great.
I think we, and I am guilty of this, get drawn in by new tech too easily. Shiny object syndrome. However, on this occasion with the Mavic 4 Pro and all the goodies mentioned above, there is enough tech and fun stuff inside to keep my creative juices flowing for years.
Roll on April 2025!

Here’s my question: Which of these do you think will have an SDK?
