4K 60p Stabilisation. In Your Pocket!
The DJI Osmo Pocket stabilizer is a small, lightweight and handheld mechanical stabilizer. It shoots 4K video at 60 frames per second and has all the latest tech to make filming fun. The Osmo Pockets weighs just 116g and its small size allows you to attach it anywhere and to anything! It's TINY!
When I first heard of the DJI Osmo Pocket stabiliser, I felt a big sigh go through my body. It seems that every 5 minutes a new form of stabiliser is released whether it's for:
It is so difficult to not only keep up with the tech for many people, but which do you buy? Which is the most portable stabiliser offering the best bang for buck, image quality and stable footage?
DJI Osmo Pocket
My first impressions of DJI's Pocket stabiliser were "that's too small to produce decent footage". However, I thought about the quality from the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Smartphone and realised tech's come a long way. After watching some sample footage, I am impressed. Very.

I have to say that after checking it out, I am impressed. I love the tech involved so now all I need to see it the quality of footage coming from the DJI Osmo Pocket stabiliser for myself and I am sold.
Who is it for?
With all the features this little unit has, it is perfect for vloggers and Instagram producers. You can attach the Osmo Pocket to the base of your Smartphone, switch to "Story" mode and shoot in a portrait orientation.
It is absolutely perfect for family events, days out, holidays and so on...hmmm...where's my wallet?
The image quality is also said to be good enough as B-roll or back up footage for wedding videographers. When outputting to 1080p for most couples, I would say this is entirely possible.
Conclusion
After checking the DJI Osmo Pocket stabiliser for a while, I think it is very cool indeed. In fact it has me even more confused about gear than ever. I own the DJI Ronin M which I love for DSLR/mirrorless camera work. I also have the Vilta M stabiliser for my Smartphone and Go Pro Hero 7 Black.
But would I buy this?
If I didn't already own the above, which covers everything I need, then yes! Absolutely. This is real innovation that fits in your pocket at a pretty cool price.
If you don't already have stabilisation in your life but love to vlog and add cool, stable and high quality footage to your work, get one.
