A Worthy Upgrade from the Original DJI Mic?
The DJI Mic 2 has got my attention. I've been using clunky Sony lav mics that are now 15 years old and whereas they still work perfectly, a smaller solution would be a huge upgrade. What can the new Mic 2 do that my Sony's can't?
Main Features
What's in the Box?
The image below shows everything you get with the DJI Mic 2 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder for Camera & Smartphone (2.4 GHz).
For me, all I would need to add to this is the DJI Lavalier Microphone for the DJI Mc 2. Why they don't include this in the kit above is beyond me! Anyway...
DJI Mic 2 vs Original DJI Mic
It's a no brainer when you see the spec upgrades, but isn't that the case for any new product? Worthy of spending your hard-earned on the latest iteration? It's not always the case but with the DJI Mic 2, I think so.
DJI Mic 2 Noise Cancellation
If DJI's promotional video above is being truthful, the noise cancellation on these units is something else. I would have to see and hear it for myself but I have to say, these are edging closer to my shopping list. See below...wow!
Let's Hear What BH Photo have to say re this kit...
Short but solid quick review from BH Photo below. Wait till you hear the noise cancellation test in downtown New York. Wow!
Adapters for the DJI Mic 2
The full DJI Mic 2 2-person kit includes 2 handy Smartphone adapters. One Lightning adapter and a USC Type-C adapter for other phones.
Long Record Times and 32-Bit Float Internal Recording
As well as the above, the DJI Mic 2 has 8GB of internal storage for recording. this is enough to give you up to 14 hours of audio. It doesn't appear that they have an input for an external card which is a shame but 14 hours is more than enough for most people.
