What finally made me cave in and buy this supposedly awful camera?
You know...I had waited years for the release of the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. Maybe it was so deeply ingrained in me that is was always going to happen?
In saying that, there is no way I would have hit the buy button if the image quality wasn't up to scratch so what else changed my mind?
After all, the quality of the 4K and 1080p video is stunning but the files are non-workable in my opinion. There is more than noticeable jello when moving left to right when filming in 4k which is nasty.
Focus peaking is missing, as are zebra stripes and a host of other things I was hoping to see. The camera is overpriced mainly due to these issues.
Then there is the stills features which is predominantly what kept me in the 5D camp all these years. The Canon colour is sublime and unbeatable as is the Dual Pixel autofocus.
So all in all, weighing everything up, why the hell did I buy it?
