Weymouth Gets Its A** Kicked by the Weather Gods
Huge Weymouth Floods after Heavy Rains
Well, well. Driving home after a shoot in Wareham last night, I nearly broke down (the car not me). As I drove through ridiculously high water on the A352, I had to keep the revs high to stop the car from stalling.
Then, as I approached Weymouth along the coast road and down the main hill into town, I was practically surfing home. That water had to go somewhere and it was still raining hard!
Woke up this morning and headed out to see what Weymouth was like after all this rain. Lo and behold there was some pretty bad flooding. A local told me that the waters had actually receded a little in parts and that the waters rose even higher in 1955. Hard to believe but then someone else told me the same thing 5 minutes later.
As I mentioned in a previous post a few days ago, when the bad weather comes, grab your camera. You never know what shots you will get and/or if any will sell.
