Could this be the end for my DJI Inspire 1 and thoughts of buying an Inspire 2 or 3?
DJI has just launched its first consumer drone that warns you of nearby planes and helicopters via its controller. With 4K 60p, 48mp photos, 8k hyperlapse, 68kph, 34 minute flight time and up to 10km video transmission...and from £769, the new DJI Mavic Air 2 is the new DJI drone that is going to be hard to beat.
Note: DJI says supply chain problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic mean it is only equipping the Mavic Air 2 with the ability to warn of air space incursions in North America at this point.
The new Mavic Air 2 from DJI is going to cause quite a stir and for good reason. The specs are outstanding and for under a grand, you could have the world (well the sky at least) at your fingertips.
Fingertips is all you need by the way, this thing is tiny but with so much imaging and flight power. It makes my Inspire 1 look like a dinosaur in both size and specs.

My thoughts on the DJI Mavic Air 2
Nowadays, I feel clumsy and conspicuous when I'm out flying the DJI Inspire 1. It is now 5 years old and the new DJI Mavic Air 2 knocks it for six in many respects.
I will be keeping the Inspire because of the X5R Raw camera which is still great for a lot of things. Plus I can use the camera on my car bonnet or hand held using the DJI Osmo but wow! The Mavic Air 2 looks mighty fine on paper.
I will look forward to seeing some real time video and still images.
