Canon Stamp Their Authority on Stills Oriented DSLR's
Post updated January 2018: Once again Canon have stifled their latest, high (ish) end DSLR by not including 4K video or even a headphone jack much to the disappointment on many Canon fans. Say Hi to the new Canon EOS 6D Mark II.
I have now come to the conclusion that Canon are standing firm on their decision not to undermine their made-for-video range of dedicated cameras.
The Canon EOS 6D Mark II is being hailed as a mildly updated 80D with full frame. It also has a few other improved features but I am not sure if it will be enough for some people. If you believe the commenters, the Sony A7S III is going to go down a storm!
Only a single SD card slot, no headphone jack and even the 1080p video is stuck at 60fps.
However, as a stills camera, I say this is a superb bit of kit. If you have no interest in video, you don't own a 5D Mark IV or 80D and like the look of this, go for it. I may at some point even grab one myself when I sell the 5D Mark II.
