How to Get Rid of Unwanted Bits and Pieces in a Photograph

Every now and again we notice niggly things that we would rather weren't there in our digital images. Getting rid of them can be a pain unless you know what you are doing. However, once you know what you are doing, it is a breeze and even fun!

Trouble is, you need the right software in which to do it and the choice of digital imaging software is vast these days! You have Adobe Photoshop and Elements as well as a whole host of other paid and free imaging software titles.

Two of my favourites are Adobe Photoshop [insert current version here] for my professional work. Subsequently, I like Adobe Photoshop Elements for quick edits (the one I recommend new photographers start out with).

Both will allow you to quickly remove unsightly artifacts in photos. In this tutorial, we show you how to do that in both pieces of software.

I shoot a lot of weddings and commercial contracts as part of my practical business. There are always unwanted things appearing in my shots such as:

  • Dust spots on camera sensor
  • Birds flying past
  • Cracks in walls
  • Unsightly "unknowns" on clothes etc

The tutorial above allows me to clean up my images quickly and efficiently so please check it out!
