Olympus Go Retro with the OM-D EM-5
Olympus today revealed their new DSLR, the "retro-styled" Olympus OM-D EM-5!
I personally love the look of this camera and the specs look pretty cool too. It reminds me of the early OM-series from the 1970's and 1980's such as the Olympus OM-1. My first foray into the world of photography was with my fathers OM-1 therefore this appeals to people like me.
Buyers will have the choice of either the all black body as above or the silver version. I would probably go for the black body if I were to buy one.
Highlights include:

- 73 inch tilting OLED touch-screen with 610,000 pixels
- 89 frames per second sequential shooting rate
- 9Splash proof and Dustproof metal alloy chassis
All looks pretty good to me and it seems like Olympus are hot on the heals of its rivals. Most noteworthy is the 5-axis stabiliser. It looks very promising and I hope it works as it says it does. Hopefully therefore, this will be a huge boon for the photo/video industry.
Great autofocus, good megapixel count, 9 frames per second, full HD video, what's not to like?
Furthermore, the superb tilting rear screen and high resolution EVF will appeal to the more video-oriented photographers. So in conclusion, will the Olympus OM-D EM-5 be a winner or will it fall short of its competitors?
Will the retro-style catch on in addition to its features or would the fans rather stick with the modern approach?
