Why would and why do people want to learn how to isolate objects in Photoshop? There was a craze and explosion of the microstock industry back in 2005. Everyone was copying everyone else in a bid to earn as much money as possible through selling their images through stock photography agencies.
By isolating certain objects, any objects, you can increase the chance of an otherwise bland image becoming a top seller! So why is this? Designers and publishers like images with copy space, or space around the image where they can add text or background images. Maybe just replace it with a simple colour to match their publication or website.
By turning the background white for example, you are automatically taking away unnecessary work that the designer would otherwise have to do themselves. Thereby making it a more attractive purchase.
