The discount is only for their opening week of sales due to launch at the end of July 2008. This is to encourage anyone "sitting on the fence" with regards to starting their own wedding photography business, to act now.
The Wedding Photography Blueprint is one of the most in depth and informative wedding photography tutorial systems for sale on the web. It comprises of footage taken from a full, 2 day wedding photography course as well as an actual wedding in order to give you a full and comprehensive understanding of what to expect and what to do when shooting weddings.
Also intertwined at various and well timed intervals throughout, are screen recordings of sometimes problematic images being worked on in Photoshop in order to salvage excellent looking wedding photos from somewhat mediocre RAW files (basically, cock-ups). These are placed alongside many other traditional Photoshopping tutorials which includes the use of recommended software and add-ons to make your images really stand out from the crowd.
The author and professional photographer behind the project is Nick Stubbs, a seasoned, full time professional with over 25 years experience using Medium format, SLR's and DSLR's to shoot weddings, portraits, stock and commercial work.
Nick understands the fears and reservations people may have about going it alone as a wedding photographer (either part or full time) but also understands the buzz and excitement this career path can take.
"Many people are sometimes put off by what they read online or hear at their local camera club about shooting weddings. What we are trying to do is alleviate that fear and encourage all beginners by producing a highly detailed blueprint that will act as a complete foundation course upon which they can build their own style over time."
As well as the above, the DVD set also includes;
- An in depth 70 page eBook with set tasks and "homework" to keep you on your toes
- All you need to know about camera and flash settings needed throughout the day to ensure you get the "safe" shots before playing with natural light and more artistic shots
- Editing Tips and tricks to salvage poorly exposed, must have shots
- Low light photography
- Flash and natural light photography

May 11, 2008 17:31 - The need for a break!
When I got ready to shoot a wedding in Spain last weekend, I booked the trip for 6 days hoping to get some "time out" that I desperately needed after getting this huge project off the ground that I am currently working on (to do with wedding photography training...coming soon).
I thought I would meet the wedding couple on day one, chill out for a couple of days and shoot some stock, shoot the wedding, chill out some more and then come home ready for anything...not so!
Because I find it hard to turn work down, especially from old wedding clients, I ended up doing the wedding, plus three portrait shoots, 2 video interviews as well as cleaning our 4 bedroomed apartment from top to toe ready for holiday rentals this summer! I had zero R and R time! Needless to say I came back to the UK more tired and stressed than ever!
So this weekend (this morning) I thought, "lets go out early (7am) and shoot some stock photography and stock footage in the early hours of a beautiful sunny day"...which I did. Then, later I took the family to Kingston Maurward, a stunning stately home in Dorset with farmyard animals in abundance, picnic areas, lakes and lovely relaxing walks.
What a day and I finally got to relax although I did take my camera as I just can't help myself...I guess I am stuck with this profession/hobby for life...not so bad really!
The moral of this post is really for me to reflect on in the future, to emphasize to myself the importance of taking time out. Wedding photography can be quite stressful enough and when you have a heap of other work to do as well, not taking a break can be quite detrimental to your health and your business...take time out!
Anyway, now I am chilled and as happy as a pig in sh....
...and of course, I can never resist the occasional stock shot!

Take care and take time out...
Nick
April 30, 2008 09:38 - Rip off batteries!
Yesterday I learned a big lesson luckily before I splashed out any cash!
I popped in the high street store "Jessops" in the UK to see if they had any flash diffusers, the Stofen type, as I needed one quickly after leaving behind/losing mine during our move from Spain.
They had none, not surprisingly as they are geared more towards, and cater more for less professional photographers.
They did, however, have rechargeable batteries which I need as mine are about 3 years old now and pretty much defunked!
The price for 4 x AA 2500 mAh Ni-MH batteries was a staggering £12.95 (or $26.00)! I struggled to remember what they cost in Spain but I knew it was a lot less than that so I decided to get some when in Spain this week.
When passing Boots the Chemist, I decided to try in there and guess what??? They had the exact same batteries for...wait for it...£2.50 and even better, they had a 3 for 2 offer on! I ended up with 3 packs (12 batteries) for just £5.00 which would have cost £38.85 at Jessops literally 100 yards away!
I always knew Jessops were expensive but this disgusted me...I nearly turned back to go and tell them what I thought but at the end of the day, the people in the shop are only doing their job so I decided to rant about it here instead!
So, there is todays lesson for you all, don't take the first price you see as set in stone...shop around first. This is a huge reason why I now buy 90% of my photography gear online!
Ok, I am off to pack for Spain...3 meetings, 2 beach family portraits, and a wedding to shoot....taxiiiiiiiiiiiii!
All the best and take care
Nick
