Hi and welcome to the January 2011 Newsletter

Newsletter January 2011: I hope this finds you well and settling nicely into 2011. The start for me has been a hectic one with:

  1. 1
    Wedding enquiries
  2. 2
    Meetings
  3. 3
    Bookings and preparations flood in
  4. 4
As well as working with the growing memberships at ATP Members

Being busy is good!

  • Lift Division - Get Your Wedding Photography Website (or any website) to the top of search engines!
  • New Wedding Photographers Network - I have personally earned over £6k from this new system and website but places are strictly limited to 15 per county and up to 50% discount is available.
  • A couple of course dates for 2011 - DSLR Training and bespoke 1-to-1 courses
  • Wedding Photography Blueprint Mini Course - A short, 3 part course on wedding photography

This month's newsletter is geared towards business. In particular, anyone who has, or is looking to start a wedding photography business. I am not sure how well versed you are with Google and their crazy algorithm changes that happen now and again but there have been some new and recent changes.

You may have noticed your own rankings and placement within Google start to slip lately. If you don’t know how to deal with this quickly, you may find it tougher to get back to the top. Are you way off the front page and are looking to attract more traffic to your website? If so, you may be interested in a product that I recently reviewed and implemented myself.

1. Google "Places"

...and other little changes of the mighty Google could affect traffic to your website. Fight back with this great downloadable course!

I got hold of this a while ago and did a lot of the things that were suggested. Within weeks, my new site that I haven't had time to work on SEO-wise in the past, is now on the first page of results. This is for the most used search term "wedding photographer Weymouth".

I have already had two recently confirmed wedding bookings from having that position. The bride-to-be told me she simply typed in "wedding photographer Weymouth" and up I sprung.

2. PWPN - Professional Wedding Photographers' Network (Not a Directory)

Limited Spaces and HIGHLY Recommended!

If you are a wedding photographer, I honestly recommend that you check this out. The new, updated site has finally been launched!

If you run a wedding photography business, full or part time, I am hoping this will get you excited and earning more in 2011. I wanted to fully test this system before even thinking about promoting it at ATP. It was something I had planned on doing myself…now I don't need to bother.

We are now affiliated with this company after I asked to meet them in the hope of promoting them through All Things Photography. That was after seeing some very profitable results in a short space of time myself. I have created a 13 minute video that explains all and urge that you watch it as soon as possible as I will be promoting this like crazy and filling the spots quickly.

3. Courses

We still have a few places left on our DSLR Training courses on March 12th and April 16th 2011. Please visit the link below for more information. Accommodation with breakfast in sunny Weymouth is available too. Why not bring a partner and make a weekend of it!

One to One Training

Having recently taught another 1-to-1 training course, I am stepping up to doing more of these in 2011. You can have my full attention for a full one or two day, intensive 1-to-1 course on any elements taken from the following topics. You design the course to suit your needs:

Wedding Photography

You can either tailor and attach certain aspects of wedding photography to your day, i.e. low light photography, flash photography, business or marketing. Or you can have the full wedding photography course for yourself. If weddings factor a large part of your business, we will include the Wedding Photography Blueprint DVD's as part of your training.

DSLR Training

Have the full DSLR training course to yourself to really get to grips with your DSLR. Or take the parts you are struggling with and add in some wedding or stock photography training for example.

Stock Photography

Already confident with your DSLR and are able to take stunning images? Maybe put that to good use and start to earn regular money from the sale of your images. Combine this with wedding photography and maybe a bit of business or internet marketing to maximise the returns for your hard work. After all, many wedding photographers find themselves in a bit of a lull "out of season". What better way to maximise the time than shooting stock?

Business Management

If you are already up and running but are struggling with the business side, why not come along for some extensive business training where we can cover all aspects of running a photography business. Topics including websites, SEO (search engine optimisation), marketing and actually getting the work in.

SEO - Search Engine Optimisation

Learn how to really get your website, product and/or business found using the internet. We have been studying and putting into practice a whole host of marketing techniques and web-based advertising for over 5 years. Maybe combine this with the wedding photography and internet marketing course?

Marketing and Advertising

Have a product or service you wish to promote? Maximise your returns by learning how to reach out to clients and potential customers either locally or worldwide. If you have a product you wish to create and launch and are looking for a joint venture partnership, this is also a possibility.

Internet Marketing

Learn how to create a stable, residual income from the internet. All using the best, most reliable and efficient methods and tools available. Just bring along your knowledge, passion and ideas. We will help you to create an online presence where you can start to build a solid, financial future from the comfort of your own home.

Course Attendee Testimonials:

Christine - Sussex

"Go on, give one-to-one training a try, it worked for me!

Having bought a DSLR camera and a selection of lenses last year I have struggled to really maximise their use and understand all the settings or even the basics. I knew I needed help to unveil this mist of confusion and to unlock the mystery of my equipment. I had tried group training but the group was too big and I got lost in the variety of experience and came away none the wiser. Therefore, I opted for one-to-one training with Nick Stubbs as I liked his work and what he had to say about his training.

Bespoke

I spent the day really delving into exactly what my issues were and so really felt that the training was bespoke to my actual needs. My goal was to come away clear in the use of my camera and confident enough to shoot good pictures. The training I received was well paced and matched my learning needs. Nick was observant and responsive to my questions. He showed intuition by spotting when I needed extra time on something in particular or a different explanation.

His training style was relaxed and easy to follow with a good ability to adapt and demonstrate points to clearly illustrate them. Additionally there were numerous invaluable hints and tips shared that will no doubt be used to full effect. Nick is clearly well versed in the professional delivery of various types of photography. He was able to use his experience to encourage and inspire me to persevere with hopefully turning a tentative new comer to digital photography into a professional photographer. One day!

At the end of the day's training I came away with the mist lifted, the mystery unlocked and very enthusiastic to practice, practice, practice!

So go on give one-to-one training with Nick a try it really did work for me."

Todor - London

"I did a one to one course with Nick Stubbs which was aimed at getting equipped to start the foundations of my photography business. The areas we looked at were stock, business/marketing, weddings, a couple of other opportunities. And work flow.

I found Nick's enthusiasm infectious and his sense of humour on a par with mine which made an intense day go by like a breeze. We covered all the topics I wanted. I have come away inspired, confident and ready to invest my time and effort over the next few years to create a solid photography business.

If you are interested in any of his courses I would highly recommend starting with www.atpmembers.com. Then getting in touch with him for a one to one or group course. Thanks Nick and I look forward to seeing you again very soon!"

The cost for these 1-to-1 courses is £450 for one day or £795 for two full days. However, be warned, these days are jammed packed and full on (lunch is for wimps ; )...although we do have lunch obviously!

4. Wedding Photography Blueprint

Just a quick note to say that we have added 3 short sample clips to the Wedding Photography Blueprint website. In case you haven't seen it yet, you can see them using the following link: Wedding Photography Blueprint

Also, if you have yet to buy the DVD's, I have also added an extra eBook in DVD 8 as an additional bonus. It is an amazing book that everyone should read at some point in their life. We are still including the other 3 bonus books for now!

Well, I said this issue was built around the wedding photography business! I had a fairly quiet year for actually shooting weddings last year as I got stuck into the ATP Members site and various other projects. This year though is proving to be exceptionally busy and is only just the end of January! If you are not a wedding photographer but know someone who is, please pass this newsletter onto them as I think they may find a lot of it quite useful…it’s a great business to be in.
