Affordable, High Resolution, High Quality Stock Photos
This buying stock photos guide will give you all the help you need. By us having sourced the highest quality stock photography from some of the biggest Stock Photography Agencies, all you need to do is click away.
Even though I am a stock photographer, I still buy stock photos myself for projects and products that I produce. Sometimes it just isn't viable, cost-effective or even possible for me to take certain images that I need so when microstock brought affordable, high resolution and high quality stock photography to the masses, I jumped in with both feet.
I have bought stock images on both a "per image" basis and also as a subscription customer. It is great to have the option of either depending on how many images you need at any given time.
If what you need does not appear in the list below, please go to the A-M section for a list of the top stock photography agencies. We do our best to double check that each agency that we recommend has a suitable and sizeable selection of images, and conducts their business in a timely and efficient manner.

Shutterstock are the fastest growing microstock agency on the internet. They have more than 3 million high quality, high resolution images at your disposal. They use a subscription based scheme whereby you can download up to 25 images a day for just £149!

Dreamstime also offer a subscription service for as little as $89.99 for 300 high resolution images! Alternatively you can buy credits which in turn buy images. E.g. $9.99 will get you 10 web sized royalty free images or 5 high resolution royalty free images.
Fotolia are a relative newcomer to stock photography but have an impressive library of images and an excellent, simple price structure that enables you to buy just one image at a time. 1 credit costs just £.57p!
- £1 will get an extra small image for web use.
- £2 will get you a small image.
- £3 will get you a medium sized image good for publications.
