Do You Go For Branded or Non Branded?

Upgrading Lenses - Is it worth the expense?

Q.

You mentioned the Canon EF 70-200L on your website. I already own a Canon EF 70-300, should I get the other or is it ok?

A.

To make a crude analogy of your question, that is like asking...

"I have a Ford Focus 1.8 TDi family car but should I get the Subaru 1.8 Turbo Rally Edition?"

The lenses both do the same thing just in a different way. The 70-300 is a good lens but the 70-200L is better. More professional.

It has faster focussing, better glass and is better quality all round. It is sturdy and water resistant and the top end 70-200L has Image Stabilization and a constant f2.8 throughout the zoom range.

I hope this makes sense? If you are happy with the 70-300, if you don’t take photos for a living (and are producing great images), great. If you are looking to step up your quality a notch and plan to shoot sports/weddings etc, then the 70-200 may be worth the extra $$$’s to upgrade.
