The Go Pro Hero 3 comes in three editions, white, silver and black giving customers on a budget a wider choice of camera. I already own the Go Pro Hero, HD Hero 2 and accessories like the Wi-Fi BacPac, iPhone app etc. Why? Because I love this camera and all that is possible with it! Here are the specs for the 3 Go Pro Hero 3 cameras:White Editioncheck Video Resolution: 1080p 30fps, 960p 30fps and 720p 60fpscheck Camera Stills: 5mp/3fps Burstcheck Wi-Fi: Built Incheck Wi-Fi Remote and App Compatible Silver Editioncheck Video Resolution: 1080p 30fps, 960p 48fps and 720p 60fpscheck Camera Stills: 11mp/10fps Burstcheck Wi-Fi: Built Incheck Wi-Fi Remote and App CompatibleBlack Editioncheck Video: 4kp 12fps, 2.7kp 30fpscheck Video Resolution: 1440p 48fps, 1080p 60fps and 720p 120fpscheck Camera Stills: 12mp/30fps Burstcheck Wi-Fi: Built Incheck Wi-Fi Remote Included and App Compatiblecheck Better Low Light PerformanceWhat's New?The Go Pro Hero 3 is stated as being 30% smaller, 25% lighter and 2x more powerful than its predecessor. People are complaining that they have just bought the Hero 2 and now they release this. Can they have their money back to buy this? Unfortunately, this is just life!I bought the original Hero just 2 days (!!!!) before the HD Hero 2 was released. I just bit my lip and got the second camera and have used both on many occasions for A and B roll cameras. I will no doubt buy the Black Edition above too for an extra angle. What people need to realise is that there is no way around this problem. Go Pro and other manufacturers cannot say when a new product is on the cards. They can't remove the old product from the shelves as sales would plummet which is retail suicide.People need to be patientIf you decide you want a new camera, look to see when the previous one was released. Check out the release dates and trends for previous models too. Until the point where a new model is released, and if you simply need a camera in the meantime, rent one!I have learned my lesson the hard way and it can be a tough (and expensive) pill to swallow. However, at least you end up with two cool cameras.I have also read people complaining that Go Pro are just in it for profits and compare them to Apple. Of course they are! Any decent business with a good product is always looking to expand and improve. What else can or should they do?I am a huge Go Pro fan and in my opinion, this new upgrade is massive. What with the built in Wi-Fi and 1080p with 60 frames per second and 720p at 120...superb! Plus:Micro SD replacing SD cardsMicro HDMI portBetter image qualityFaster processor...this camera just gets better and better.Edit: Well, I bought one, played with it A LOT and you can now read my full extensive review here: Go Pro Hero 3 Black Review
