Amazon Kindle Fire HD Tablet

New High Definition Tablet from Amazon

I have “ummed” and “ahhed” for a while now about buying the iPad. The iPad 2 nearly had me but I was waiting for the iPad 3…or the “new” iPad.

I already have the iPod Touch 4G and the iPhone 4s (I am a recent convert from Android) and love both of these gizmos. I don’t want the iPhone 5 even a little bit because the 4s does absolutely everything I need from a phone…music, camera, video, playback, a gazillion apps including my favourites of Poker, Endemondo, calendars and the amazingly free GPS Navigation app “NavFree”.

However, the iPad 3 did nothing for me…much like the iPhone 5. Nothing revolutionary that would ge me to part with my cash.

As well as loving Apple and the products they (used to?) make, I also love Amazon. For me, Amazon is one of the best shopping experiences going because:

  • I don’t have to bounce around from shop to shop in town getting bounced around by angry shoppers
  • I can always find what I need at a lower cost
  • I love getting stuff through the post!

I bought my wife the Kindle a couple of years back as she is a serious bookworm and now uses the Kindle all the time! When I recently saw the new Kindle Fire HD, I kind of felt like Scrat in the Ice Age films…I really wanted one. It is small, compact, powerful, classy-looking with all the features I need for my work and want for my play-time.
