Wedding Photography Tips

Canon EOS 5D - 80th/sec - F5 - ISO 250 - Manual - Natural

A few dancing shots now. One thing I learnt a long time ago was not to settle for what comes out of a 35mm camera. You will see in many of my shots that they are cropped to all shapes and sizes.

Don't be afraid to experiment and chop people's eyes or other features from a picture if it works. Faces are not always needed in a portrait to make it moving and presentable.

For this shot I just left a hint of the Groom's smile in order to focus on the intimacy between the couple during their fist dance.

I used a softbox diffuser attachment from Harbour Digital Design on my 580EX which bounced the light both upwards and directly onto the couple. It also diffused the flash nicely whilst lighting the couple well, but not overly so, to keep in with the mood.

Lens 24-70 2.8 L at 64mm
