The site has been running on a trial period with great success (as I can vouch for myself) and has recently undergone a total revamp which includes updates, upgrades and a whole new look.

After personally joining and testing the network myself last year (and receiving enquiries and bookings almost immediately), I went to meet the website owners to learn more and have negotiated an exclusive discount for all ATP readers of between 30% and 50%!

Note: Again, this is NOT a directory like the thousands you see everywhere these days, this is way better than that! This network works on a very clever referral system whereby professional photographers all help each other and get more work as a result.

Most traditional directories take your money and place you within a bucket load of other photographers and hope for the best, this wedding photographers referral network works very, very differently.

Rather than just being a list or directory of 100's of other photographers which can quickly saturate an area, it works as more of a business network of friendly professional wedding photographers, in any given area, all looking out for each other.

This is very similar to a small, private network of professional wedding photographers that we set up in Spain when I was living and working out there which worked like a dream and the weddings just kept coming in.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

What happens with the wedding photographers referral network is this...

A limited number of professional wedding photographers (15) are added to each County in the UK or each State/Metro in the USA once they have been approved. Then, if a wedding couple find that a particular member photographer is booked for their wedding date, they are automatically referred to other member photographers in that area using this innovative system.

This keeps all enquiries for any given area within the membership and the couple know that they are being referred to only the best wedding photographers in that particular area that have already been pre-approved.

The photographer that was busy and missed out on the booking used in the example above, will at some point regain that business as the exposure he receives will no doubt bring more work from other photographers that are already booked for any given date.

So How Will This Wedding Photographers Referral Network Benefit You and Your Business?

1. Search Engine Rankings (Save a fortune on Google ads)

We encourage all members to actively strive to rank well in the search engines which is something you will receive help with. We also recommend that you check out the Lift Division downloadable course on Local Search Marketing...again, it worked for me and got me (otherwise I wouldn't dream of adding it to ATP).

Your member page on both sites (referral site and ATP) will be fully search engine optimised but even if you show up on the third or fourth page of results for a certain area, if another member of the site shows up on the first page, or even at the number one spot, you can benefit from his or her ranking.

If he/she is booked, the lead gets passed on to you and the other members for that area (remember they limit the number of members so you get a fair crack at the whip). It is then down to you to close that lead and convert it into a contract complete with deposit.

On a reciprocal basis, if you are showing up on the top of the rankings and you are already booked for a certain date, rather than let that lead go, you then automatically send it on to other members in your area. The whole system is a win-win for everyone and prevents good leads from finding poor photographers.

2. Your Business Gets Actively Promoted

You will have your own promotional page at the members website where you can add your own logo, portfolio, contact details, map, prices, testimonials, advertising, availability calendar and links to your website.

You are able to change any of these details via your own profile page at any time.

Your business will also be promoted through online social media networks, wedding fairs, paid advertising and many more outlets to ensure the best chance of you securing more weddings.

There will be various member meet ups throughout the country once all areas are filled as well as special deals on various photography related goodies for its members.

Note: We cannot always guarantee similar results for all areas as some places are harder to rank higher for although we do our best. Despite this, the exposure and "link juice" from ATP all helps and we will also link back to your members page on the network which helps you rank higher there too!

Proof That This Works!

As a working professional wedding photographer myself, I needed to know that this wedding photographers referral network "worked" so I joined last year. As with everything I promote at ATP I first need to know if it works...if it is good and if it is worth staking my reputation on!

Within the first 12 weeks of joining I had received a number of enquiries and two firm bookings (with deposits) totalling £4,000, with another meeting coming up which I am sure will result in another booking (Update Jan 2011: It did result in another £1800 booking plus I have received a further booking recently for £1600). This easily covers not just this year's membership fee but a number of years!

The first of those bookings came from not my home county of Dorset but the adjacent county of Devon. The bride told me that she had gone to a photographer in Devon through the system, found out he was booked via his online calendar, got redirected and then saw my listing.

She called, we met and she booked me there and then and even praised the system for working well for her. Everybody wins.

The second booking came from a Dorset couple who again, saw my members listing via a Google search. You see, the more the system matures with new members, the more the site itself ranks on the search engines for various search terms for all areas and the better it works.

* Local Coverage - is for photographers who want to service a more local market.

** Additional Counties - is an "add on" service for photographers who want to expand their local availability to nearby surrounding counties. You may purchase as many additional counties as you require. Some members are quite happy to service their own county and therefore do not need to purchase additional counties.

*** National Coverage - is where a photographer wants to be able to advertise his/her business in every designated county within the British Isles or USA.

So your first year membership for your local area is just £105 and the fee for a national listing covering ALL counties in the UK is just £250! Good value? I think so!
