Shutterstock are a company operating along similar lines in so much as they use a membership program. You can apply for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months membership and in that time, download up to 750 images a month!
You can also download images on an individual basis here and again are worth a visit. All images are a minimum of 2.5 to 3 Megabytes and up to a maximum of 7 or 8. They are scrutinized for clarity and noise and any unsuitable images are rejected so you can be assured of their quality.
