Wedding in Spain

Wedding Photography Tips

As it had looked pretty good through the viewfinder with just the wedding couple, I decided to grab the rest of the wedding party. All the shoes came off and they carefully walked across the rocks.

Once again, by converting the image to black and white and adding a bit of punchy contrast, the overall image has a touch of "surrealism" about it. As the groom said when he saw the photo, "We could be anywhere in that shot!"

I can almost guarantee that if I photograph a wedding with the same reception location, I won't get the same results. The clouds and light will be different and the shot may simply just not work.

Whatever I am photographing, whether it is for a client or for me, I always make the most of being at a particular location by looking around for other kinds of shots.

For example, at a show or concert, now and again it is good practice to look behind you at the reaction of the crowd to whatever is happening on stage. The hundreds of smiling, laughing, singing or shocked faces could tell a thousand different stories.
