Wedding in Spain

Ever since I first started in photography, using 36 exposure film, I have always maintained the same attitude. If I end up with just one image that blows me away personally out of the lot, I am more than happy.
For me, on this day, this was that shot. I had upped the ISO to 200 as light was fading and the bride was just standing around waiting for her new husband to arrive for the early evening shots. I wanted to blow out the background but keep the sea and rocks in perspective.
All day, the bride had been quite aware of the camera but for this particular moment she seemed to be in a world of her own. By using a sepia effect as well as a couple of others, it seems to have immortalised the moment.
When shooting weddings you should barely have time to relax the whole day. Even during the lulls, look around at what is happening. See what people are doing when they think the camera is away from them. This is the time for the candids and the reportage stuff!
Exposure: 250th/sec F2.2
ISO: 200
