Lifestyle/Commercial Photography

How good can a job get? I was asked to do some serious lifestyle/dinner party shots for real estate here in Spain and was told that we had 8 models and had borrowed an €8 million villa from somebody "quite well known".
The dinner shots were done, the drinks, chatting and various others but this was the most challenging shot I was looking forward too...the swimwear in the pool at night.
Because of my lack of suitable studio gear needed for this size of shot, I decided to go for natural light which in this case was from the extensive and expensive lighting set up from the garden and pool area. It also posed a few problems.
I needed a long exposure to get the light just right but not too long otherwise I would get movement from the models. Even at ISO 200 with an aperture of F4, it was still 3 seconds! The models had to stay dead still for those 3 seconds and it only took 2 or 3 takes to get this particular one.
Even at F4, the use of a wide angle lens took care of the depth of field and I was pretty pleased at the outcome. I can honestly say that this was one of the most challenging, exciting and tiring jobs I had done and the set of shots that I got added very nicely to my personal portfolio.
Exposure: 3 secs F4
ISO: 200
