Wedding Photography

This was a great wedding in Spain with a beautiful and very photogenic bride. We were taking shots at the bride's house before leaving and her father brought out some sparkling wine to calm the nerves and start the day.
The original is nice, but has a real mish-mash of colours so I thought I would go "black and white". This technique of adding a splash of colour to enhance a certain aspect of the image is a little dated for a lot of photographers now, but judging from the reaction of the couple, it is still new to a lot of people.
For me the attention really does focus on the four glasses and the bottle of wine, especially with the bride and maid of honour looking on so intently.
With shoots such as wedding photography where you are going to end up with many photographs, it doesn't hurt, or create much more of a workload, to try a few different ideas. If the clients don't like it, so be it, but you would never know otherwise. You may even find that they order more prints this way.
