Tarifa Beach Lifestyle Shoot

We took this shot before Wendy's hair got too wet later on. For this section of images I unknowingly ended up wading out into the water quite far and had to steady myself a number of times, although for this particular shot the water was fairly shallow.
I used a fast shutter speed to freeze the surf and a large aperture to blow out the background and concentrate on the subject.
The horizon was kept out of the frame as by having just the sea in the background helps to isolate the model, again, useful for magazine usage. The red bikini really contrasts against the blue sea too.
The well built qualities of the Canon EOS 10D fortunately survived a day of windy, salty and damp air quite well! (Although I do now use the water resistant 1D MKII for added security.
Exposure: 1000th/sec F5.6
ISO: 100
