Portrait Photography - Makeshift Studio

Have baby, will work. If you are a photographer and have just got yourself a new child, the chances are you and/or your partner will become part of a "baby group".
My wife had joined such a group and once they found out I was a photographer, well, the work came rolling in! Having quite a few jobs lined up and (at the time) no studio, I was looking for ways of effectively "faking it", and tried the method that resulted in this shot.
The shot was so simple yet the outcome quite effective. We used the bed in our bedroom with a double, white sheet spread out and up over the headboard. The lighting came from the window to my left and just one Metz CL-4 flash gun attached to the camera, which was bounced directly upwards from the ceiling.
Then, using Photoshop, any creases and crinkles behind Sonia and Dillon, were "ironed" out (my kind of ironing!) to give a studio backdrop effect. Also by bouncing the light, you get a softer, subtle and diffused effect.
Exposure: 60th/sec F6.7
ISO: 200
