Landscape/Architecture Photography

The older I get and the more I "personally" advance with photography, the more I am getting into architectural images. Whether it is because I am more interested in travel and history I don't know, but I am fascinated by ruins in particular, like this one at Gaucin in Andalucia, Spain.
This "hole in the wall" intrigued me. Was the hexagon shape that it had created, made by abuse and/or weather erosion over time or was the doorway always shaped that way. The former I would have guessed.
I also like the stark contrast between the rough edges and texture of the foreground and that from the metallic "sheen" of the blue sky behind. I filled the frame with the ruin itself as not to detract the eye from what was of interest to me.
If you are in doubt as to the composition of your images, simply take a few from different angles, viewpoints and perspectives. Also when you post process them on your PC (assuming that is what you do), try cropping them a bit to get the best possible image...one that tells a story or sparks interest to the viewer.
