Ramp Up Your Marketing and Save a Lot Of Money With Our Discount!
Having been a photographer for decades now, I understand the need to constantly update, renew and re-invent yourself and your work.
If you want to stay ahead of the game and keep leading the way instead of following the pack, you need to be innovative, creative and just get out there amongst the masses.
A photographer’s portfolio shouldn’t be something static…it should be alive and constantly changing as you process new shoots with new techniques, use new ideas and produce new and stunning work. It should be updated at least once a year if not more.
This means not just updating the galleries on your website but your business cards, flyers, leaflets and other marketing material such as photobooks.
Photobooks are by far one of the best marketing tools a professional photographer can use. They look great, they are “touchy feely” and encourage potential clients to pick them up and they can be left anywhere, including some really prestigious places like a calling card.
The only trouble is, they can be expensive to manufacture and produce…often in the hundreds of pounds.
Not any longer.
A few weeks ago, I spent an entire morning with a photobook producer in Dorset and I discovered they have a way for photographers to produce quality photobooks at a low cost.
BUT…the beauty of these books is that once they are made, you can disassemble them later in order to update them with new inner pages at a very low cost! Genius!
In a later email, I will go into the details of how to go about making your own photobooks for clients in varying styles but for now, how could making your own portfolio books benefit you and your business?
The most obvious answer is for your marketing.
What if I told you that (once you own the book-making machine…price later), to create a high quality, 30 page, hard cover photobook including block foiling on the cover (logos/lettering), would cost less than £7 each…would you be interested?
You would have all the necessary equipment right in your home making the whole process a breeze from start to finish. The insert pages could either be printed by yourself and put together at home, or for a small fee, they could be printed at high quality using various types of paper by Opus, the people that make the binding machines.
Opus have a very fast turnaround for their printing services.
Imagine having 30 copies of an A4 photobook (portrait or landscape) with a selection of your absolute best work, showing off all the different genres that you shoot. Imagine those photobooks having all your website and contact details on the front page for all to see. Imagine leaving those books at numerous locations around your county.
Now imagine the marketing opportunities and exposure you would receive by doing this!
At less than £7 each, I am sure you would have no problem with any of the above…even if over time they get mislaid or mishandled. If the outer cover remains in good condition but the inner pages become worn, you can simply replace those inner pages at a ridiculously low cost.
Here is an example of what it will cost you to get started printing your own photobooks including a special offer for All Things Photography readers (oh, and we can ship these machines abroad too).
- 1 x Binding and De-binding machine (can create books with up to 150 sheets of 80gsm paper – £464.00
- 1 x Foiling Block up to 100mm x 180mm (one off cost for stamping your logo on the covers) – £79
- Cost to foil 50 book covers – £79
- Black Classic A4 landscape covers and channels – 4.28 per book or;
- A4 portrait covers – £3.29 per book
- Note: covers sold in packs of 10 pairs, channels in packs of 10 per spine size
So, 30 photobooks with your own logo or lettering stamped on the cover would cost:
- A4 Landscape – £4.28 x 30 = £128.40 plus foiling at £79 = £207.40 or £6.91 per book
- A4 Portrait – £3.29 x 30 = £98.70 plus foiling at £79 = £177.70 or £5.92 per book
- Plus the foiling block and machine at £543
Total cost for 30 A4 Landscape books including block and machine = £750.40
Total cost for 30 A4 Portrait books including block and machine = £720.70
Once you have the machine, you have unlimited potential for making more and more books for less than the cost of a trip to McDonalds! Print different books for each topic…one for weddings, one for commercial, one for portraits and so on…I love it!
Limited Discount for All Things Photography Readers
Normal price for 30 x A4 landscape books and machine etc = £750.40 – Our Price = £600.00
Normal price for 30 x A4 portrait books and machine etc = £720.70 – Our Price = £585.00
Think about it.
For an initial outlay of £600, you would have 30 photobooks, plus the binding machine, plus the foil block that would stay at the printers for whenever you need it.
All you would need to do in the future is simply order more covers and have the inner pages printed…then knock them up from the comfort of your own home.
Personally, I can think of so many ways in which this would benefit my business and get my name known around Dorset and because of this, I am going to have my own books made soon. I will also be filming the process to show you how simple it all is.
For now, all I want to know is how many of you are interested in this opportunity because the price of the binding machine won’t be discounted this much for long.
