The Eagles - Every winter, the Illinois reservoirs, rivers and waterfowl refuges are homes (temporarily) to more than 3,000 bald eagles that spend the season on their shores. They migrate from Canada and other northern states when the water there freezes becoming somewhat uninhabitable.
The first eagles of the season are usually spotted in Illinois around December time, and remain in residence until they eventually migrate back north in March. January and February are the optimal time for visitors to see these incredible birds up close.
Needless to say, with the bald eagle being the symbol of the USA, many fairs, special days and events happen around this time.
Illinois is also famous for its many Spas, but this isn't meant to be a tourist guide although it is a fascinating place to visit. So before you do visit, or if you wish to promote Illinois, please use the following guides to obtain your Illinois stock photography.
