Digital Photo Storage Devices - What are they and why would I need one?Well, primarily you could say that digital photo storage devices were what they said they were, a device in which the professional or serious, amateur digital photographer would store their digital images. However, I think they look so good and have such cool features, EVERYONE should have one!Ok, this is a site for photography, so let's start there, I will come to the other bits later. (If you already know about these and want to read a review click on one of the pics below) These 4 were chosen through personal use or through the awards/ratings they were given by popular magazines etc.
Digital Photo Storage Devices for the PhotographerRight, why would a photographer need a portable digital photo storage device? There are a few reasons none better than a portable back-up hard-drive. These devices have internal hard-drives ranging from 20GB to 80GB, which is ample storage for any amateur or pro out in the field. The CF card or otherwise, can be taken from the camera and inserted into the digital photo storage devices and "Downloaded". (Although some may need an additional, seperate card-reader). You can then view all of your photographs in various ways and even zoom in to check minor details and or focussing. They are used for digital photo storage and viewer too! Photographs can be filed in the same way they are on your PC and moved around by cutting and pasting too. Ultimately, by owning one of these, you can cut down on the amount of memory cards that you buy. They fit in your camera bag or pocket, and are great for showing clients or potential clients, your work. These devices can also hold all other types of data, such as word docs or programs just like any other hard drive, and can be used to transfer data from one PC to another. Most are plug and play compatible. Digital Photo Storage Media Devices for Anyone Else!The beauty of these devices is that not only do they store and show your photographs, but many will play MP3 music and MPEG or AVI videos too! It will also plug into external speakers or music systems or even your TV. Great if you want to show someone your home videos or photographs, but don't want to take your precious CD's or DVD's/Videos with you.
