September 5, 2006 17:12 - New Wedding Photographer for Upminster in Essex Listed on the Photographers Directory at All Things Photography

Paul Smith at Ultimate Images Wedding Photography is the latest wedding photographer to join the growing international photographers´ directory at All Things Photography. Paul covers the whole of Essex as well as London and the Home Counties.

Not only does Paul Smith of Ultimate Images in Essex have a talent and artistic flair for professional wedding photography, he also has a passion for it!

To many couples, this is a pre-requisite these days as everyone has an "Uncle Bob" who claims to be a professional photographer or a local guy who will photograph your day "on the cheap" just because he has a digital camera.

As well as capturing and recording the finer details of the day that you may miss, Paul will also, unobtrusively capture those spontaneous moments that happen so quickly all around. This all takes skill, knowledge, experience and a real understanding of how a wedding day typically unfolds.

Paul has more than 2 decades of photography experience and his starting prices should fall well within your budget. He also offers a tailored service to suit any requirements you may have for your wedding day.

"I can confidently say that the quality of our photography will always be of paramount importance and our service will be second to none. We strive to do the ordinary things extraordinarily well" - Paul Smith

September 23, 2006 08:59 - Silly season draws to a close.

Wow! What a busy few months….and I don't just mean busy, I mean busy!

If not shooting weddings or commercial it is up at 7.30am, straight on the computer for a full days processing or uploading/keywording stock until 8 or 9pm.

It is only this morning when I woke up and looked out of the window, I actually got that "excited" feeling I got when I was a teenager just getting into photography. The sun is about to rise, it looks like it is going to be a sunny day and an Eagle is soaring and circling in the distance.

My immediate thoughts were, "I want the new Sigma 300-800mm lens for wildlife", then, "I want to go out and shoot stock photography all weekend", then, "I want to completely redesign my websites with all the new images, skills and experience I have acquired over the summer".

I am 40 next year and I felt like a big kid again, like I had rekindled the love of photography all over and to a new level. Photography "work" had got in the way of photography "fun", although sometimes they do overlap which is nice.

Most days I speak to my brother who is a photographer and we inspire and motivate each other, or (if I get the chance) I browse other photographers' sites and galleries for ideas and motivation.

Unfortunately today I have visitors in the morning and lunchtime followed by a short wedding at 4pm which means more processing on Sunday….there goes another weekend!

Whether you are new to photography or a seasoned pro, it is so important to take time out and make time to simply go and shoot for the fun of it…all work and no play etc…

It is too easy to overkill and burn out your love of photography by just working all the time. It becomes a chore and you forget why you got into it in the first place, your camera becomes a tool rather than a creative outlet. So if you are thinking of doing this for a living, remember to always set aside some time to snap away just for fun sometimes.

A great way of doing this is shooting stock photography. You can either wander about for hours shooting away in the city or countryside or you can brainstorm ideas and see them through to the final image which is a real buzz…especially when they start selling.

Anyway, I just wanted to make a post this morning to let people know I am still alive. I will be more active with the site adding tons of new stuff over the winter so "Don't be a stranger"!

All the best,

Nick Stubbs
