May 8, 2006 14:04 - New User Review on the Canon EOS 5D
The Canon EOS 5D continues the tradition of Canon breaking the mould with just about every other DSLR they release.
So what makes this latest addition to the EOS line so different?
The main thing has to be the fact that it is the first DSLR with full frame that has come close to being affordable for the masses, but with that sensor comes the need for glass...good glass...

May 20, 2006 10:05 - The wedding season is upon us!
Well, having already done a number of weddings this year already, the real wedding season here in Spain is about to start.
With 9 weddings in June alone and 3 or 4 a month after that, my time is going to be spent either on the job or in Photoshop...busy times ahead!
In fact, so much so, I am shipping the family back to the UK for a holiday to give me space to get on with it without grubby little fingers switching the PC off at the most inopportune moment! (And that is just the wife)!
The pleasure of shooting weddings over here is that I get to really experiment with some amazing locations. I have already shot weddings on a catamaran in Puerto Banus, a Cave in Mijas, a converted monastery in the countryside and the traditional and ancient churches in the smallest of Spanish pueblos.
Now I have beach weddings, weddings in luxury 5 star hotels and your "bulk standard" registry office affairs to look forward to...
Once it has all died down at the end of the year and all prints have been safely posted or delivered, I will be putting my experiences of the past few years to good use.
Taking my experiences from just about any and every situation possible (from wet, windy weddings in the UK to the brightest sunshine in Spain) coupled with successful marketing and after sales, I will be putting it all down in writing for a new book in the New Year.
It will cover all you need to know about starting a wedding photography business....
- Where to start?
- Getting a portfolio together.
- Marketing and getting the contracts.
- Your Equipment.
- What, when, how and where to shoot.
- Conduct, etiquette and the entire wedding photography process.
- Troubleshooting.
- Dealing with people...the nice and the difficult ones.
- Processing the images.
- Presentation of proofs and the final prints.
- After Sales.
- Referrals.
- Accounting.
- Websites.
- Anything else I can think of!
So keep coming back and look out for the new eBook in the New Year!
All the best,
Nick

May 25, 2006 10:50 - Wedding Photographer in Kent and Surrey
Our latest addition to the Photographers Directory at All Things Photography is Pan Photography, a wedding photographer in Kent and Surrey. The company was formed in Surrey in the UK in the early 90īs, but for the last 8 years it has been operating in Southern Spain.
After the birth of their two children, Nick and Sonia Stubbs have decided to move back to the UK and re-kindle their operations in England once more.
Having been born and bred in Kent, Nick then lived in Surrey for 10 years, so he knows the whole area pretty well. He is a professional, qualified photographer with licences in both wedding and commercial photography and considers the lighting and composition of his images of utmost importance.
With an abundance of photographers in this "digital age" Nick understands that competition is fierce and says that what sets him apart from others is an absolute passion for what he does.
For over 20 years Nick has absorbed himself in his work and when not shooting weddings or commercial photography he likes to spend his time helping and training young aspiring photographers or is simply out and about shooting stock photography.
Nick has also written two books on photography which have sold successfully over the past year.
Pan Photography
will be returning to the UK later this year and are now taking bookings for 2007.
